Beach Party

Saturday we went to Okoboji so the kids could run around on the frozen lake. It was sunny and warm without much wind - a perfect winter day. There were many summer friends spending the weekend at Manhattan. It was nice to reconnect.

Being at the lake must have sparked something in Lauren because when we got home, she went to work planning a beach party. She laid out blankets all over the dining room. Each blanket was a different item. The blue blanket was the lake and mermaid blanket was the hot tub. We had snacks and music; we swam and sunbathed. Then, mom and dad got to fold up the 10 blankets. What's wrong with this picture???

Tonight (Sunday) we had to have dessert at the Fox - Lauren's restaurant. She made menus, set the dining room table, and put out all of her desserts for us to choose from. I don't know where these ideas come from in this girl, but she puts her whole heart into each event. I can't wait to see what next week brings!
